Headmaster

Prof. Dr. Werner Esser

School and Boarding School Administration

With 280 boarding students and 80 day students Louisenlund is one of the largest boarding schools in Germany. The board of governors and the trustees of the Foundation Louisenlund supervise the maintenance of the foundation's goals. Both governors and trustees are appointed in honorary capacities. The chairwoman of the board of governors and the trustees is Ingeborg Printessin zu Schleswig-Holstein.

Headmaster is Prof. Dr. Werner Esser. He is assisted in the Middle and Upper School division by two heads of boarding, Susanne Dierck and Christian Helm. Catherine Donovan is Head of the Junior School. She is responsible for all activities, whether boarding or school affairs. Ulrich Steffen supervises all academic affairs in Louisenlund.

The student government officially represents the student body. It is elected annually. The student government cooperates closely with the teachers in all affairs which affect the boarding school, for example, in organizing house sports tournaments. Of course, any problem which may arise also requires the attention of both teachers and the student government.
