Founded in 1949 as a state-recognised, independent upper level school, Louisenlund today has 350 students and is one of the largest and best-known boarding schools in Germany. It is part of a network encompassing a large number of international contacts and partner schools on six continents.

Louisenlund has undertaken to always keep pace with the times but, taking into account the principles of the Foundation not to be misled by short-lived trends. Pupils can thus be equipped with the ideal skills that they need in light of a rapidly changing society.
