Weekends in Louisenlund

School year in 14-day blocks

Louisenlund works and plans in a 14-day rhythm. In a B-week, lessons end on Friday lunchtime after the 6th period at the latest. This is followed by an A-week, in which Saturday is a normal teaching day from Year 8 onwards and can last until the 6th period.

Active weekends

An A-week is followed by an "active" weekend, which Louisenlund organizes with students in a varied and attractive way. It is worthwhile using the infrastructure at the boarding school for this active weekend, taking part in workshops and activities and experiencing yourself as part of an active community. Participation in this "active" weekend is generally voluntary.

Participation may be compulsory for fixed boarding school weekends and for individual year groups, courses or guilds. This can include, for example, additional exam preparation or revision sessions as well as training courses at the THW, a field hockey guild tournament or a closed meeting of the student parliament.

Free weekends

There is no extensive program selection in Louisenlund on these weekends. Many students use these weekends to go home or spend time with friends. Louisenlund plans a number of excursions throughout the school year, for example to Berlin, the Harz Mountains, the west coast of Schleswig-Holstein or Hamburg, to introduce international students to Germany in all its diversity. These offers are then open to all pupils for registration.
