Excellent education - individually supported

Families who are interested in Louisenlund want their child to receive a very good school education, comprehensive personal development and character building as well as the best preparation for a self-determined and happy life. We share this aspiration.

Louisenlund is a school for young people who want to develop their talents, take on responsibility and develop personally - regardless of their individual starting situation. The decisive factor is that Louisenlund's pedagogy can make all this possible for your child.

Only when these questions have been answered with a clear "yes" from both sides does the specific question of funding arise, and Louisenlund is prepared and financially able to provide extensive support in this regard.

Individual cost structure

The value and resulting costs for a school place in Louisenlund are determined on an individual basis. Various factors play a role here: for example, the type of school chosen (grammar school, vocational grammar school or IB World School), the parents' 1st place of residence and the child's personal level of development and performance.

For orientation purposes, the following standard rates apply as a starting point for the individual calculation in the 2026/27 school year

  • Boarding school: 84,300 per year
  • Day school: 28,080 per year
  • External places: 2,520 per year

Grants and scholarships - because performance and potential count

Almost all of Louisenlund's pupils have qualified for one of the existing support programs. These are aimed at both particularly high-achieving and committed young people who are keen to develop.

The main funding opportunities include (the conditions at the time of signing the contract apply for the entire school career)

  • Development scholarships (irrespective of income) of up to € 28,200 per year, depending on the type of school and the parents' first place of residence, for pupils with a proven willingness to perform in a school or extracurricular context.
  • Funding in the "plus programs" and the agricultural campus consisting of two components (income-independent/income-dependent):
    Component 1 (income-independent): Reduction, e.g. after successfully completing the nationwide plus-MINT selection process or when attending a vocational grammar school specializing in agriculture: € 22,400 per year;
Component 2 (income-dependent): In the application process for student BAföG, the personal contribution is determined individually by the BAföG office depending on income
  • Regional funding (income-independent) for boarding school students whose parents have their first place of residence in Schleswig-Holstein or Hamburg: € 1,500 per month
(cannot be combined with performance and development scholarships or funding in the plus programs / vocational grammar schools specializing in agriculture)

  • plus sailing boarding school scholarships (income-dependent), whichcancover up to 90% of the standard contribution for top international athletes (prerequisite: disclosure of financial circumstances).
  • We will discuss the costs incurred in individual cases and which grants are suitable in person. Our admissions office will guide you step by step - so that you know exactly what opportunities and prospects your child has at Louisenlund.
  • Please note that the funding opportunities depend on the financial conditions of the charitable Louisenlund Foundation. Consequently, there is no legal entitlement to funding in these clusters, even if the stated conditions are formally fulfilled.

Sibling discount

We are particularly pleased when siblings become part of the Louisenlund community together. To support families whose children attend Louisenlund at the same time, we grant a sibling discount during this time.

When attending the general secondary school or the MYP/DP program, the cost component "accommodation, care outside of lessons and meals" in the boarding school is reduced by € 8,400 per child per year. For day school students, the reduction is € 3,000 per child per year.

If three or more siblings attend Louisenlund at the same time, the discount increases to € 14,100 per child per year at the boarding school and € 6,000 per child per year at the day school (primary school pupils are included in the calculation of the number of children, but have a different discount as long as they attend the elementary school).

For pupils whose own contribution is calculated in accordance with the conditions of the Schüler-BAföG and for recipients of a regional scholarship, this support is already included in the scholarship. An additional sibling reduction cannot be taken into account in the calculation for this child, but is granted for siblings in the general secondary school or in the MYP/DP program in the above-mentioned amount (the child in BAföG/regional scholarship counts in the number of siblings).

This reduction is added to the funding programs.

Reduction Alt-Louisenlunder Bund

Many families feel connected to Louisenlund for generations. If at least one parent is a member of the Alt-Louisenlunder Bund, we therefore grant an additional reduction on the cost component "Accommodation, care outside lessons and meals".

When attending the general secondary school or the MYP/DP program in the boarding school, this component is reduced by € 3,600 per year, and by € 1,500 per year in the day school.

For students whose own contribution has been calculated in accordance with the conditions of the Schüler-BAföG and for recipients of a regional scholarship, this reduction is already taken into account in the scholarship. Additional crediting is therefore not possible.

This reduction is added to the funding programs.
