Excellent education - individually supported

The value—and consequently the cost—of a school place at Louisenlund is determined on an individual basis. Various factors play a role in this determination, such as the type of school chosen (Gymnasium, Vocational Gymnasium, or IB World School), the parents’ primary residence, and the child’s personal level of development and academic performance.

As a guide, the following standard rates will serve as the basis for individual calculations in the 2026–27 school year:

• Boarding school:€84,300per year
• Day school:€28,080per year
• External spots: €2,520 per year

Nearly all students at Louisenlund have qualified for one of the available support programs. These programs are designed for both high-achieving students and those who are committed and eager to grow.

Key financial aid options include (the terms in effect at the time the contract is signed apply for the entire duration of the student’s schooling):

• Merit-based scholarships (income-independent), depending on the type of school and the parents’ primary residence, of up to €36,000 per year for students with a grade point average of 1.5 or better
• Development scholarships (income-independent), depending on the type of school and the parents’ primary residence, of up to €28,200 per year for students who demonstrate a proven willingness to excel in academic or extracurricular contexts.
• Funding through the “plus programs” and the Agrarcampus, consisting of two components (income-independent/income-dependent):
  Component 1 (non-income-based): A reduction, e.g., after successfully completing the nationwide selection process for plus-MINT or when attending a vocational high school specializing in agricultural economics: €22,400 per year;
  Component 2 (income-dependent): During the application process for the Student BAföG, the student’s share of the costs is determined individually by the BAföG office based on family income
• Regional funding (income-independent) for boarding school students whose parents have their primary residence in Schleswig-Holstein or Hamburg: €1,500 per month
  (cannot be combined with merit-based or developmental scholarships or funding under the “plus” programs / vocational high schools specializing in agricultural economics)
• Regional scholarships (income-dependent) for day students, awarded upon admission to 5th grade for the entire duration of the contract (prerequisite: disclosure of financial circumstances).
• plus Sailing Boarding School Scholarships ( income-based), whichcancover up to90% of the standard tuition for top international athletes (prerequisite: disclosure of financial circumstances).
• We will discuss the specific costs involved in each individual case and which financial aid options are appropriate in a personal consultation. Our Admissions Office will guide you through the process step by step—so you know exactly what opportunities and prospects your child has at Louisenlund.
• Please note that funding opportunities depend on the financial circumstances of the Louisenlund non-profit foundation. Consequently, there is no legal entitlement to funding in these categories, even if the stated conditions are formally met.

We are particularly pleased when siblings become part of the Louisenlund community together. To support families whose children attend Louisenlund at the same time, we grant a sibling discount during this time.

When attending the general secondary school or the MYP/DP program, the cost component "accommodation, care outside of lessons and meals" in the boarding school is reduced by € 8,400 per child per year. For day school students, the reduction is € 3,000 per child per year.

If three or more siblings attend Louisenlund at the same time, the discount increases to € 14,100 per child per year at the boarding school and € 6,000 per child per year at the day school (primary school pupils are included in the calculation of the number of children, but have a different discount as long as they attend the elementary school).

For pupils whose own contribution is calculated in accordance with the conditions of the Schüler-BAföG and for recipients of a regional scholarship, this support is already included in the scholarship. An additional sibling reduction cannot be taken into account in the calculation for this child, but is granted for siblings in the general secondary school or in the MYP/DP program in the above-mentioned amount (the child in BAföG/regional scholarship counts in the number of siblings).

This reduction is added to the funding programs.

Many families feel connected to Louisenlund for generations. If at least one parent is a member of the Alt-Louisenlunder Bund, we therefore grant an additional reduction on the cost component "Accommodation, care outside lessons and meals".

When attending the general secondary school or the MYP/DP program in the boarding school, this component is reduced by € 3,600 per year, and by € 1,500 per year in the day school.

For students whose own contribution has been calculated in accordance with the conditions of the Schüler-BAföG and for recipients of a regional scholarship, this reduction is already taken into account in the scholarship. Additional crediting is therefore not possible.

This reduction is added to the funding programs.
