Ob in der Schule oder beim Sport, Erfolge feiert man besten zusammen - in Louisenlund feiern wir gemeinsam und unterstützen uns gegenseitig im Internat, in der Schule und in der Freizeit

A strong community as an important factor for personal success

At Louisenlund boarding school, around 320 boarders live and learn in the security of the Louisenlund community. The intensity of the friendships that develop and the time spent together are of the utmost importance at Louisenlund boarding school.

Situated in the beautiful countryside on the banks of the Schlei, the Louisenlund private school and boarding school offers pupils a fixed framework for their daily routine. The transparent structure and the naturalness with which lessons and afternoon activities are holistically combined and linked in the boarding school make the adventure of growing up easier for the boarding school pupils. Lessons take place in small learning groups in the mornings. In the afternoons, the pupils take on the challenges of their chosen activities - the so-called guilds - with great commitment. Louisenlunder then enjoy the evening hours at boarding school in the company of their best friends.

The younger pupils start their time at boarding school on the sheltered Louisenlund farm, while the older pupils live and study in the idyllic castle grounds.

The girls' and boys' rooms are located separately in different areas of the boarding school. Many of the dedicated Louisenlund teachers also live on the boarding school grounds, and some of them live under the same roof as the pupils in their own family apartment as so-called house parents. This creates trust and a great deal of understanding for the individuality of all the residents.

Role of the house parents

The house parents in particular are a reliable constant when it comes to overcoming personal challenges. They offer important support when starting at Louisenlund and in daily boarding school life, become confidants and help to overcome homesickness or other emotional challenges. They offer support in growing up, take responsibility for daily routines and encourage students to take responsibility for their own actions. Open dialog, respect and a shared interest in the well-being of the child are key to a successful relationship between the boarding school house parents and the family.

Protected space for personal development

The Louisenlund community is a space characterized by respect and appreciation.
Pupils, teachers, staff and parents meet openly and without prejudice and communicate with each other as equals.
Everyone is free to express themselves without fear of consequences. This creates a protected space on the boarding school campus in which everyone can develop their personality.
