Providing structure and a place of freedom at the same time - living in Louisenlund

Having your own single or double room is very important at boarding school. It offers privacy and serves as a retreat for deceleration, relaxation and recreation. The different residences offer plenty of privacy. They are also a place for social interaction, be it with fellow residents or guests. Daily rituals and routines are developed together, providing structure and predictability in the lively boarding school life. Friendships for life can develop here. Living at Louisenlund goes far beyond the mere materiality and functionality of the buildings. It is a dimension of learning in its own right.

Akazienring - home for 48 students

The Akazienring, which has been awarded a prize by the Association of German Architects, offers space for four living areas. The vision of the building: to give the final year students a home embedded in nature near the Schlei, where learning, performing and living merge into one another. The circular architecture of the building, affectionately called "Donut" by the students, houses bright student apartments, inviting meeting rooms and cozy retreats.

Wald- and Gilden house

The Wald and Gildenhouse are located in the immediate vicinity of the castle and the Kunst- und Kulturhalle. The two newly renovated dormitories offer space for 40 students from year E onwards and are reminiscent of Scandinavian homeliness thanks to their red cladding. In the individually furnished single or double rooms, the young people have space to retreat, while the new common rooms offer the opportunity for group discussions and activities.

Bridge house and Oskars

What would a boarding school be without rooms where students can come together? The newly designed Brückenhaus, located on the school's own sailing harbor, is just such a place. From the terrace, you have a fantastic view of the Schlei. Here, pupils and all other boarding school residents can recharge their batteries or watch the sailors. The student café "Oskars", named after the former student president Oskar Lürsen, is a meeting place by students for students. The former ice cellar of the castle, located directly in the castle park towards the Schlei, offers boarding and day pupils the opportunity to chat or simply relax and chat in a deckchair in the sandy area in front of the entrance.

On an active weekend on a Saturday, in a B-week with a weekend trip home on a Thursday evening. The boarders can dance and party together to the music of the Louisenlund DJ team.
