hen Louisenlund Primary School opened its doors in 2015, a special chapter began in the educational landscape of Schleswig-Holstein. With just six courageous children and under the direction of Christine Birkner, a school concept was launched that continues to inspire today: learning with all the senses, creative lessons in projects, theater games, Low German - every day was and is unique.

Demand grew quickly: after just one year, there were 18 pupils, and today the elementary school is fully occupied with 72 places. What has remained is the spirit of the beginning - full of the joy of discovery, individual support and the joy of learning.

The Louisenlund elementary school building was constructed in 2018

The opening of the Forscherwelt in 2018 was a special milestone. During the construction of the building, construction work came across a surprising historical discovery: a thick layer of clay, a relic of an old brickworks. This spontaneously gave rise to a school project - with real homemade bricks made from Louisenlund clay!

The new building is more than just a place of learning. Bright, open learning landscapes invite discovery and research. A modern workshop, laboratories, creative spaces for teamwork - the research world embodies exactly what the pedagogy of Louisenlund Primary School is all about. Today, it is the heart of the school and also a STEM competence center for the region.

Laying the foundation stone of the Louisenlund Research World

Ten years of elementary school - that was celebrated. But not with long speeches or official guests, but in true Louisenlund style: with a rousing musical created by the children themselves.

"Tuish Pamoja" - Swahili for "Let's walk together" - was the name of the play, which tells the story of an animal community that overcomes its differences and realizes how strong it can be when it works together. Raffi, the giraffe child, and Zea, the little zebra, led the audience with wit and heart through a colorful story about cohesion and diversity - central values that also characterize everyday school life in Louisenlund.

Accompanied by the junior school orchestra under the direction of Christian Ziegler and pianist Sylwia Timoti, the musical was a real experience. Afterwards, young and old came together at the barbecue buffet. There were also a few words of thanks: Parents' spokesperson Tobias Scholz got to the heart of the matter when he thanked the entire team for their commitment - for making Louisenlund Primary School a special place.
