Expressing emotions, changing perspectives - art and theater in Louisenlund

Art and theater are highly valued at Louisenlund. Both are unique forms of expression that enable young people to express and process their emotions. Whether through painting, pottery, drama classes for younger students, or theater productions for older students, exploring a theme and bringing it to life artistically is motivating, fun, challenges creativity, and fosters the personal development of children of all ages.

Creating something special

Expressing oneself, realizing oneself - art is a large playing field in which the pupils at Louisenlund can try out and discover themselves. Capturing emotions on a canvas or processing them creatively encourages them to see the path as a goal and "just let it happen". We give our pupils of all ages the opportunity to explore their artistic streak and use their talents to create something special. In doing so, they learn to move within a space of interpretation and to articulate their own thoughts and views.

Special understanding of roles on stage and in life

It is the stage—which for many people means the world—that our students can also step onto here at Louisenlund. Even in the younger grades, drama plays an important role in students’ personal development. Taking on a role in a play requires a shift in perspective. Theater helps students grasp other perspectives, pursue a goal with discipline, and teaches young people to understand and accept others. A deeper understanding of roles helps students discover their own place in life and navigate society with confidence. A twofold success awaits: appreciation, trust, and recognition within the community, and the applause of the audience after a successful performance.
