Skills development - a prerequisite for success and happiness

Traditional education in Germany is authoritarian and focused on learning facts. Kurt Hahn's experiential education brought a breath of fresh air to didactics by focusing on active, experience-based learning. This approach promotes a more holistic development of learners and is still one of the cornerstones of Louisenlund's pedagogy today.

Experiential education emphasizes direct experience and hands-on learning. It emphasizes first-hand learning and personal discovery rather than focusing solely on theoretical knowledge. Important social and personal skills such as teamwork, self-confidence, initiative and problem-solving skills are encouraged.

A solid academic education is an important aspect of young people's future lives, and this also applies to Louisenlund. But here we are also constantly investing in the integration of 21st century skills such as creativity, critical thinking, communication and collaboration.
